Q4 2023 Performance of Top Consumer Finance Apps on iOS in the UK

In the fourth quarter of 2023, the UK's consumer finance applications on iOS exhibited varied trends in downloads and weekly active users. Sensor Tower's data provides a comprehensive look at these movements, offering valuable insights into the sector's performance during this period.

Monzo - Mobile Banking saw an initial decline in downloads from 49K in the last week of September to approximately 32K by the first week of December, with a slight uptick to 32K towards the year's end. Weekly active users peaked in late November at 1.62M but dropped to around 1.47M by Christmas.

Barclays UK experienced a mid-quarter surge in downloads, reaching 33K in late November, before settling down to 22K by the end of December. The app's weekly active users showed a promising increase, peaking at over 2M in late November, but concluded the quarter with a lower count of 1.88M.

Lloyds Bank Mobile Banking downloads saw a gradual decrease from 33K to 21K over the quarter, while active users experienced a high of 1.29M in late November, before falling to 1.16M by the quarter's end.

HSBC UK Mobile Banking had its highest number of downloads in the last week of October at 33K, but this figure had decreased to 14K by Christmas. Active users reached a high of 891K in late November but had decreased to 772K by the end of December.

Lastly, Nationwide Mobile Banking showed an increase in downloads from 18K to 23K in mid-November, but this trend reversed, ending the quarter at 14K. The app's weekly active users saw a peak of 759K in late November, decreasing to approximately 719K by the close of the quarter.
